1. WFS UPGRADE
WFS is upgraded! Thank you for all your efforts with this process. As you begin to use the new system please let us know of anything that may be unusual by emailing wfshelp@wesleyan.edu. A summary of the differences with the upgrade can be found here and an open session to answer any questions will be held today (Wednesday, January 13) at 1:30 in Usdan 110.

Smart Doc Submission – If you saved any Smart Docs that were created between January 5-7 please remember to pull them back up and submit them to workflow.

Emails – Any approval emails received prior to January 11, 2016 will contain a link to the old version of WFS that will not work. Your approval is no longer needed on the document and you can delete the email.

Pop Up Blockers – Since the new version of WFS is a different web address from the old version you may need to adjust your pop up blockers to view attachments and pull up new panels.

Inquiry and Pivot Tables – Please review pivot tables carefully as Inquiry columns may not line up the same as the old version. We are actively working to return the column order to the initial defaults.  This only affects Smartkey/Account Summary and Transaction Detail.

2. Minimum Wage Increase
As communicated in previous newsletters, the state minimum wage increased to $9.60 per hour on January 1, 2016. If you have any student workers that were at the prior minimum wage they have already been adjusted to be paid at the new rate. Operating budgets will be adjusted accordingly on July 1.

3. Accounts Payable – Martin Luther King memo
On Monday, January 18th, the University will observe the Martin Luther King Holiday.

All Accounts Payable Vouchers which must be paid on Friday, January 22nd, must be received in the Accounts Payable inbox no later than Friday, January 15th at 4:00pm. Payment requests received beyond this deadline will be processed for payment on January 29th. Keep in mind that Wesleyan’s payment terms determine when a payment is made.

4. Budget Reminders
Please be sure to check your financial reports so that you are on track in your budgets. Assuming consistent spending throughout the year, budgets should be 50% expended.
