1. MINIMUM WAGE

Connecticut’s state minimum wage increased from $15.69 to $16.35 per hour on January 1, 2025. For unrestricted operating funds (excluding true cost centers), budgets were adjusted to accommodate this increase. The budget increase was based on actual student wages spent in fiscal year 2024, with adjustments for federal and institutional matches. For restricted funds, the increase will need to be covered using their own resources.

 2. SUPPLIER ONBOARDING

In the next couple of months we will be making changes to the supplier onboarding process. The current self service process will be replaced with a different vendor. This will provide us with the opportunity to refine the current process that is in place. If you would like to be part of the testing group, or simply have comments or requests for the new platform, please email Valerie Nye at vnye@wesleyan.edu. Look for additional information in future newsletters.

3. WORKDAY

Duplicate Sequence Numbers

Over the holiday break there was a Workday issue whereby the sequence numbers on certain financial transactions reset, resulting in duplicate sequence numbers. Supplier invoices were the most impacted but it also occurred in PCard Verifications and Budget Amendments. This was subsequently fixed going forward but there are some supplier invoices that may look odd. For supplier invoices, the duplicates occurred between the numbers 1 and 673. This should not have any impact on payments but may result in unusual search results.

Transaction Detail Report

Did you know that the equivalent of the WFS Transaction Detail report exists on the Financial Reporting Dashboard? This can be found in the tab “Other Financial Reports”. There is a separate report for Actuals Detail (WU Journal Detail for Organization – Department Version) and Budget Detail (WU Budget Detail for Organization – Department Version).
