1. MINIMUM WAGE

Connecticut’s state minimum wage will increase from $16.94 to $17.48 per hour, effective January 1, 2027. For unrestricted operating funds (excluding true cost centers), budgets will be adjusted to accommodate this increase in December. The budget increase will be based on actual student wages spent in fiscal year 2026. For restricted funds, the increase will need to be covered using their own resources.

2. PER PERSON MEAL LIMIT

Note that there has been a change to the Business Meals and Entertainment section of the Finance Policies to increase the limit from $30 to $35.

3006.3.1 Student, Faculty or Staff Oriented Functions
Annual, semi-annual, or occasional functions with students and/or employees are considered reimbursable business expenses when the expenditure is reasonable and appropriate to the situation and the nature of the business conducted. These events can serve either as student cohort building (i.e., prospective major receptions, speakers, etc.) or as recognition of individual or group achievements. Costs per Wesleyan attendee cannot exceed $35, and this includes food, delivery and/or gratuity.

3. REQUISITION VISIBILITY ISSUE

There have been reports that some users are unable to see their requisitions after successfully submitting them. This issue appears to be affecting individuals who are, or have been, both Wesleyan employees and students. Please see the attached resolution

4. MULTI YEAR PREPAIDS

Some payments have prepaid components that span across more than one year. If you have an invoice where this may apply, there is now a Multi Year Prepaid worktag. When completing the supplier invoice, in the “Additional Worktags” if you type the word “prepaid” you will now see an option for “Prepaid – Multi Year”. Please choose that.

5. PURCHASING NEWS

Since we did not issue a newsletter in September, we have two months of Purchasing News. Please see August and September for information on shredding, Inn at Middletown, Enterprise and more.
